SERIES: IMAGEBEARER | 5 WEEKS ON OUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST

SERIES OVERVIEW (DOWNLOAD SERIES OVERVIEW)

The world tells us to define ourselves by likes, achievements, labels, or how we feel. But the Bible says our true identity starts with who God is—and who He made us to be. In this series, we’ll learn what it means to be made in God’s image, how Jesus gives us a new identity, and how we can reflect Him through our worship, our gifts, and our lives.

OVERVIEW FOR EACH WEEK IN THIS SERIES:

WEEK 1 – I Was Made to Reflect God (July 27)

SUMMARY: You were created to reflect God’s goodness and glory to the world. But sin cracked that reflection—leading to confusion and broken identity. Jesus came to restore what was lost so you can live out your true purpose.
TEXT: Genesis 1:26-28; Genesis 3; Matthew 26:34-46
MAIN QUESTION: Who am I, really?
BIG IDEA: You were created to reflect God’s glory, but sin has broken that reflection. Jesus came to restore it, and when we say no to sin and yes to His Way, we begin to reflect Him rightly again.

WEEK 2 – I Was Made to Create and Bring Peace (Aug 3)

SUMMARY: God didn’t just make you to exist—He made you to build, serve, and bring peace to the chaos around you. You’re invited to join His mission of restoring what’s broken in the world. Your everyday choices can help bring heaven to earth.
TEXT: Genesis 1:26-31; Revelation 21; Matthew 5:9
MAIN QUESTION: Why am I here?
BIG IDEA: God made you to partner with Him in making the world better-not adding to the chaos, but bringing peace.

WEEK 3 – I Was Made to Worship (Aug 10)

SUMMARY: Everyone worships something—whatever you focus on most shapes who you become. God created you to worship Him in spirit and truth, not just with songs but with your whole life. What you worship will shape your identity.
TEXT: John 4:23-24
MAIN QUESTION: What do I care most about?
BIG IDEA: Worship is more than singing-it’s what shapes us. Everyone worships something.

WEEK 4 – I Am Made Right with God (Aug 17)

SUMMARY: You don’t have to earn your way to God—He already did the work through Jesus. When you trust in Christ, your identity isn’t “what I’ve done,” but “who I belong to.” Real freedom comes from resting in grace, not striving for approval.
TEXT: Galatians 2:11-21; Philippians 3
MAIN QUESTION: Am I Enough?
BIG IDEA: You don’t have to earn God’s love. You are made right with Him through Jesus, not through being perfect.

WEEK 5 – I Was Made to Serve (Aug 24)

SUMMARY: God gave you unique gifts—not to show off, but to build up others and serve His mission. Your talents don’t define you, but they are tools God wants to use. Discovering and using your gifts helps you live out who you were made to be.
TEXT: 1 Corinthians 12
MAIN QUESTION: What am I good at-and why does it matter?
BIG IDEA: God gave you gifts, not to build your own platform, but to serve others and build His church.
