Series Overview: There is a thin green line between our hearts and our money. When we give money, whether to a person in need, an organization, or the local church we become part of a bigger story. Giving connects our hearts to God in a way that reflects His sacrificial love for us.

  • Main Point: Giving connects you to something bigger.
  • Main Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:7
  • Discussion Questions: Create meaningful conversation. Adjust questions as needed, and don’t feel like you need to answer all of them.
    • What are some examples of “random acts of kindness”?
    • If it feels good to give, why do you think so many people don’t give more, or at all?
    • What are some things you own or resources you have? Think about what you have and what you are able to give.
    • What are some ways you can make a difference through giving?

Wk 2: **Father’s Day Special Edition** – June 21

  • Main Point: God is the perfect Father and shows us what love truly looks like.
  • Main Scripture: 1 John 3:1-3
  • Gospel Moment: Even though it’s right to honor our parents, we can’t do enough right things to earn our way into heaven. Believing in what Jesus did when He died and then conquered death is the only way to have a restored relationship with God and receive the gifts of His Spirit living in us now and our guaranteed entrance into heaven when we die.
  • Discussion Questions: Create meaningful conversation. Adjust questions as needed, and don’t feel like you need to answer all of them.
    • You are a child of God – how does that make you feel?
    • How is God like an earthly father and how is God different from an earthly father?
    • How do you think it could help people to realize just how much God loves them?
    • What do you think God loves about you?
  • Next Step: What’s one thing you can do this week to say “Happy Father’s Day” to God?
  • Close your time together in prayer.

Wk 3: SPEND – June 28

  • Main Point: Where you spend your time and money is a reflection of how you see  God.
  • Main Scripture: Matthew 6:19-21 & 24
  • Gospel Moment: However we spend our lives, we can’t do enough good deeds to earn our way into heaven.

  • Next Step: Keep a record of what you spend your money on this week and reflect on where you invest your money.
  • Close your time together in prayer.

Wk 4: SAVE – July 5

  • Main Point: Saving lets you do more with your money than you can do today.
  • Main Scripture: Proverbs 13:11 & 1 John 3:17
  • Gospel Moment: No matter how much money we save, that can’t save our souls or get us into heaven.
    • Are you the kind of person who spends or saves? Why?
    • If you had $100 in your pocket right now, what would you do with it? If you had $1,000, what would you do with it?
    • What is something big you wish you could afford? Be realistic.
    • Can you think of examples in your life, or in someone else’s, where saving would have been better than spending?
    • What do you think about the 80/10/10 rule? Do you remember what it stood for? Do you think you could follow it?
    • If you followed the 80/10/10 rule for a year, do you think your life would be any different? How?
    • What are the benefits of saving, and why? Explain your choice.
